Flexible working and work–life balance
Work that can fit around your life
Life does not always fit neatly around a traditional working week.
You may be studying, raising a family, caring for grandchildren, supporting a loved one or balancing other commitments outside work.
At Horizon Care, we offer a range of roles, working patterns and shift options. Wherever the role and the needs of the people we support allow, we will explore flexible working arrangements that can work for you.
Find a working pattern that fits
Depending on the role and service, opportunities may include:

Bring your life experience
You do not have to follow a traditional career path to make a difference in care.
You might be returning after a career break, looking for a change later in life or wanting to continue working after retirement. You may have spent years caring for family members or developed valuable skills in another industry.
Previous professional care experience is not always essential. Your patience, values, reliability and ability to build relationships could make you a great fit for Horizon.
Learn while you earn
A flexible role can allow you to earn while studying, training or working towards your longer-term goals.
When you join Horizon, you will receive the induction and role-specific learning you need. You can build your confidence, develop new skills and explore where a career in specialist care could take you.
About our training →Flexibility that works for everyone
The people we support need safe, consistent and reliable support, so flexible arrangements will depend on the role, service and available shifts. We cannot promise that every working pattern will be available in every service, but we will always be open to discussing what could work.
